COS x Snarkitecture: Relaxing cave that reflects COS design philosophy
“The design of the installations transforms the space and evokes a sense of relaxation and tranquility, making it a comfortable and enjoyable space for visitors to spend time in.”
During Salone del Mobile, COS commissions exclusive installation design by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen of Snarkitecture. Transformed Spazio Erbe into an immersive translucent cave by layering thousands strips of white fabric. Suspended from the ceiling to the floor.

The simplistic yet modern concept of this installation came from the technical lightness and luminescent of the Spring/Summer 2015 COS Collection, which reflects the COS ethos and design philosophy.

As we exploring through the tunnels low tunnels, we are welcome to interact with the ribbons. Sit on a small seating area surrounded by strips, or considering the distorts the path of the ribbon journey. We could walk along a designed path, or to wander into the infill of the space.

The installation blurs the edges of defined forms creating complete opacity and transparency. Creating a translucent cave that welcome the visitors to relax in its retreat's ambient, to sense the tranquility, as well as to experience the interaction of luminous material.

“What we came up with is an immersive environment that draws on familiar qualities of fabric and the primal nature of caverns to create a world of reflection, exploration and interaction.”
